Spring?

What kind of spring is this? I know this is Salt Lakes forecast but it's pretty much the same in Utah Valley. I just got back from Spanish Fork because I helped my parents by picking up Ellen from school and let me tell ya, the wind doesn't help much either. My Grandpa Glover calls the snow “white manure". I agree with him. I'm ready for summer!!

Evan Updates

He's getting so big and cutter everyday. These pictures were taken during the beginning of the month. He's sitting up better at this point but he's taking his nap and Matt has the camera so I can't take an updated photo. This is the first time he's sat-up on his own for a long time without falling.

Evan is no longer in an infant tub. I'm afraid to let him just lay in the tub so I got him a little reclined chair. He looks like he's relaxing by the pool.

Update

I guess it's been a while since I last blogged. It's amazing how much time passes. I guess that's what happens when you get so busy. The past couple of days Matt has been working hard in our yard. I've helped but Matt deserves the praise on this because he worked so hard. It's coming up on a year since we've moved into our home. Through out that time we've been playing with our sprinkler system to get it to do what we want but it's been tricky because it's galvanized. We don't have the knowledge or the tools to fix the pipes so we had to bring in professionals. We decided just to put in a whole new system because we were tired of the hassle. In the long run it will save us a lot of money and we could fix it ourselves. The one thing I love about the new system is that it will be on a timer. All of last summer, I had to go out and turn it on and off manually.

After removing the sod, the hard work was digging out the trenches.

Last Friday, my dad came by and helped before night fell. Saturday, Matt's Dad helped in the morning and than my Dad came back with Joseph. Why this was going on, Nathan and Elizabeth were slaving over a hot grill, smoking Ribs and Chicken. The rest of my family came over for the BBQ but once we were done, it was back to the yard. After all the trenches were dug, Matt and his Dad started putting in the system.

It's not completely finished but close. Since we've been doing this, Evan has been enjoying the out doors. It's a whole new world to him.

2008 Hyundai Sonata

Matt and I decided it was time to purchase a second car. We didn't think it was necessary to have the luxury to have one because I just stayed home and worked. Now that Evan is here, not only is it smart but we were also sick of pulling the front seat forward, lifting the car seat up and pushing the seat back just to put him in because we were driving a two door car. Just opening the door and placing him on his base was the first thing we noticed when we test drove the new car. Four door cars are a beautiful thing! We were going to wait a few more months to purchase one but we couldn't pass up the good deal we got after the dealer lowered the price a $1,000 more when it was already $2000.00 cheaper from the sale price. We've had it for a couple weeks now and we are so happy with it and we are glad we didn't wait.

A Sweet Victory!

We had our Precinct meetings tonight. Matt was determined to be Precinct Chair. He ran against two other men. One of the guys running against Matt ran for Provo City Council and is a retired Fire Chief so he's a well known, respected guy. Believe it or not but Matt won! I was elected as a County Delegate. I seriously have no idea why because I never told anyone my views. I guess they all thought I shared the same views as Matt. I'm grateful because I'm not a public speaker.

Happy Easter!

It was a very quite Easter for us. We didn't do the traditional egg hunts and egg coloring. The Easter Bunny did come though.



Matt has been traveling so much that it was nice to have him home and just relax after church.

Sleep

Evan has been sleeping through the night for a whole month now! Have we ever told you how easy it's been to put him to sleep? If he is still wide awake after he is fed for the night, he will just go to sleep on his own. We just simply put him in his crib. We give him his blanket and he puts it over his head half way and he's out.

Before we go to bed we check on him and we pull it down. We just love this kid!

4 Month Check-Up

Evan had his 4 month visit with his pediatrician today. And what a great day to have it, St. Patrick’s Day!

Length: 25.40" - 66th Percentile
Weight: 13lb 2oz - 12th Percentile
Head Circumference: 41.5 cm - 25th Percentile


He's a little on the small side but his doctor doesn't seem to be worried about it. Sleeping through the night has that affect on babies that are still nursing. He was given his 2nd round of immunization shots. This visit was a night and day difference compared to last time. He screamed when he was getting them but it didn't seem to faze him later on. He was just his happy self.
