Merry Christmas!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! It was a memorable one even though some of our plans fell through. We had plans to go to the Glover Christmas Eve party but there was such a horrible storm so we stayed home. We didn't want to risk an accident with a new born. I hope my family forgives us. Since Evan is still waking up twice a night, Matt had a great idea to open our presents Christmas Eve. I didn't want to at first but I agreed in the end because I liked that we could sleep in so we can enjoy our family later on the next day. I got Evan ready for the night and we had our Christmas a day early.

Since Evan wasn't old enough to open his gifts, we just left them open.

One gift was wrapped and that was from Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Nathan.


When we were in California, our Aunt had this swing. We had a swing already for Evan but he hated being in it. He ended up loving this swing so we had to get it for him. He loves the mobile.

We left stockings till Christmas morning. This is the first time Evan smiled so big and we caught it on camera.

He's just as big as his stocking!!

The rest of the day we spent it with both families. It's nice having our parents living next door to each other. Since Evan is the first grandchild on both sides, he was obviously spoiled with toys.

Photo Shoot

A friend from the ward took photos of Evan for us. This was a baby shower gift. She got a few good shots of him. Since we didn't get pictures of him in his blessing outfit, I had her take a few. Grandma Felt gave this outfit to us so we had to take some since she wasn't able to make it to the blessing.


We just had to get him in his Cougar outfit. I wish she got a long view of it but I guess they didn't turn out. His shirt says "You are Lookin at One Cute Cougar" and my mom gave it to us. My sister Ericka made the blanket.

Since its Christmas she took Christmas pictures.

Road Trip to Northern California

A family member passed on the Haymore side. This is the second in one month on the same side. The first one we couldn't make it because we could have had Evan at any moment. I'm glad we went to this one even though I was worried with the ride up and back because of Evan being in his car seat for long periods of time. I was surprised that he slept the entire time between feedings. We are blessed with such a great baby!

We visited Grandpa Thompson why we were there since he hasn't seen Evan yet. Evan was actually named after him. Evan M. Thompson and Evan Matthew Thompson. This is a four generation photo of all first borns.

Blessing

Evan was blessed today. Thank you friends and family for coming. It meant a lot to us. Again, I wish I took more pictures. I blame the no sleep! I did get one of my Grandparents on the Glover side. This is the first that they’ve seen him.

Doc Appointmet

We actually got to see Dr. Later this time. Again, my mother came with me to help. Evan is doing really well. He wieghed in at 8lb 1oz and he's now 20.9 inches long so he is growing.

BYU vs Utah

This is the best game out of the year and I couldn't miss it! My mom watched Evan for us so I could go. We purchased All Sport Passes this year and I really didn't want to hand over my ticket to someone else. I don't want to brag or anything just incase die hard Utah fans read this blog but WE WON!!!....

and I missed Evan the entire time.

Update

Matt had to work this morning so my mom went with me to Evan's appointment so she could help carry him in. I still haven't completely recovered from surgery. To our disappointment, the office was closed. I ended up calling them later on and they didn't tell me that they were in a different room on Fridays. Yeah it would of been nice to know that when we first decided to go to that clinic. We've been really impressed with Dr. Later so I can't see myself going anywhere else. I will just let this one slip. Tune in next week to see how much he weighs.
We had a pleasant afternoon having another wonderful feast with the Felt's. Evan was asleep the whole time. I can't believe how much he sleeps! I'm guessing that wont last long. Before we left, we took Evan out so his Great grandma could hold him. I don't know where Great grandpa was so he wasn't in the picture.

I wish I got more pictures but when you haven't had much sleep; your mind tends to not work right.

Happy Thanksgiving....

everyone!

We have so much to be grateful for! Our number one is having Evan here with us and having each other.
We spent the day with Matt's family since we'll be with my family tomorrow. We had a wonderful feast. I can actually enjoy food without getting so full with just a few bites later with a baby inside. That's another thing I'm grateful for. I'm not sharing my body with another! Sleep has been so nice as well but of course I'm waking up a few times during the night but Evan is well worth it. He wakes up just to eat and than he goes right to sleep.
Evan has his three week checkup tomorrow. Last week he weighed in at 7lb 5oz so he got most of his birth weight back. When we left the Hospital he weighed in at 6lb 15oz. Almost lost a whole pound. Life is so much easier when your milk comes in!

So sweet!

He was awake a little longer this morning so I had to take pictures with his eyes open.

And I think it only happened because we went to the BYU vs. TCU Football game the night before.


We didn't think he would ever come. Only three days late! I started having contractions around 4:00 in the morning.

Introducing Evan Matthew Thompson!

He was 7lb 13oz and 20" long. He was born at 3:15 pm



Evan is a very healthy baby boy.....

Baby Shower!

I had my 3rd baby shower today. Matt stayed for this one because be was curious with what we do.

I'm glad he stayed because it was fun.Evan is going to look cute in all the clothes he got.

False Alarm!!!

I was having contractions all day Monday. I started monitoring them when they were happening so close together but they weren't hurting. They slowly got closer and closer. At 10:00pm we finally went into Labor and Delivery because they were 2 mins apart, even after lying down for an hour. After 4 hours we were sent home because I wasn't dilating. I was given morphine and a sleep aid so I could sleep. The last thing I remember was getting in the car. Later, Matt tells me I told him "I feel like you" It was nice not feeling pregnant for a little bit. I just didn't know I said it out loud.

32 weeks!

Mesquite

We took our friends Amy and Austin to Mesquite this last weekend. They never been so we thought it would be fun to go and who wouldn't want to go on vacation again? We spent our time in the water to beat the heat. I forgot to take pictures because we were having so much fun. We also braved the heat and rode Go Carts and played a game of Mini Golf. Saturday we made our way to Las Vegas. We went through a Temple Session. I hate myself for not taking pictures because it's such a beautiful Temple. I guess we just have to go again! Amy and Austin never walked the strip so we decided to stay an extra night to walk it. I'm glad we did because Matt and I never saw the falls at the Bellagio. It's also a fun Casino to walk through.


Since we were staying, we had to make a late night run to Wal-Mart for food and yes, we are in our pajamas.

What a rush!

This last week was the Thompson Family Reunion. We stayed in a small town just outside of St. George. It's always so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just get away especially when it's with family that you only get to spend time with once a year. I honestly wish it could have lasted longer. A surprise Baby Shower was thrown for me and Aunt Becky. I honestly got really cute things and can't wait for his appearance.

The family skits were a laugh. We role played "Nephi Builds a Ship". Matt was Nephi and I his wife.

During the reunion, Matt and I had to take a detour to San Diego for my older brothers wedding. We hopped on a late evening flight from Las Vegas so we could be there the following morning. The Wedding Ceremony was beautiful.

22 Weeks pregnant!

After the reception and before we flew back to the reunion, we had time to watch the Padres play. We loved the looks on our Uncles faces when they heard we were there when they only got to watch it on TV. It was a good game!
