Evan is just getting so fast! I was working in the Living Room and I see him leave through the kitchen. He was gone less than a minute and all of a sudden I hear the toilet flushing. It actually scared me at first because I really didn't know what it was. When I realized it was the toilet I went to go get him. I set him back down in the Living Room and I saw him wonder back through the kitchen. He did it again so I had to get a picture :). When he was down again, he made a b-line to the bathroom and started laughing so I followed him and closed the door. He knows how to keep his mom on her toes.

Bomb Shelter

That's right! We have one. Any family or friends that have been to our place have seen our bomb shelter but it really wasn't much to look at because the previous owners have left a lot of junk and having a few things of ours down there it was a mess! After living in this house a little over a year, we finally cleaned it out starting late Friday night after Evan went to bed and finished Saturday late afternoon. We thought the shelter could have been just a place for storage but it had to be a bomb shelter because the old guy that built and used to live here had it wired for everything. Our suspicions were confirmed when we found a key labeled "Fall Out". Anyways, we finally have a place to store our food storage so we're both really excited about it. I guess it can serve it's purpose if we ever do get bombed but I hope that will never happen. We are the only ones in the area with one and it's a running joke in our ward that they can store their food storage at our place. For those that haven't seen it, it extends out into the backyard and it's below the basement. Here are some pictures for you to see! We are so proud.

After we spent all that time cleaning, we went to Spanish Fork to visit with both family's. We swam and had a great time seeing everyone. On our way home Matt wanted to look for a flat bed scanner so while he was looking at them, I stayed in the car with Evan. I had a great idea just to take pictures of him whether he was smiling or not so you can see the many different faces of Evan Thompson.



Evan is starting to dance to music. It's been fun!

Utah County Fair

We were invited to attend the Utah County Fair this evening with Matt's Parents. I've never been to a fair that I remember so this was a once in a life time experience with me. The high light of the evening were the animals. Whenever Evan sees a cat or dog he just stops in his tracks to look at it and makes a noise to mimic whatever sound they are making. I think it's so cute so I knew he would enjoy the animals. There were a lot of cows and sheep that we could touch.

This was the prettiest cow there. We wanted to pet her but she was looking at us so we thought to move on to the next cow. This picture is really for my mom because she loves cows.


This is the first time Evan got to see and touch a cow.


When we went through the sheep cages Evan was making his little noise like he does the cats and dogs. It was so cute. We caught a short video footage of Evan petting the sheep.


At Fairs there are always things on display. We were looking at things and I saw something that looked familiar to me. It was a picture that I saw hanging in my brothers room. It wasn't him that submitted it but I thought it was cool seeing him on display with a bunch of girls. I wonder if he knows about it.



We stopped over at Wal-Mart on our way home to get camping supplies for the weekend. We wanted to be fast so we separated. I went into cosmetics and while I was looking for what I needed, a Wal-Mart employee accidentally dropped Finger Nail Polish. With my luck it happened to break and it got all over my sandals, pants and a drop on my shirt! The lady couldn't believe what happened but she hurried and got some remover to try to get it off but with no luck. She told me to go to Customer Service so I did. When I started telling the Manager what happened the employee arrived to explain what happened so my story was creditable. She took care of me and I left with a $50.00 gift card. What a crazy shopping experience.

9 Months!

Evan is now 9 months old! He had his nine month check up today and he's still very healthy but very skinny.

I try to fatten him up but he's just too active. I don't mind because he's just too much fun! Over the weekend on Saturday when he turned 9 months we went to the Provo pool with Amy and Austin. I have so much fun with Evan when we go swimming. I'm going to miss the pool when it closes next week :(.



Later that evening Matt, Nathan and I went up Trail Fork to go look for a camp site so we can go camping this weekend. We found a great spot where we can shot our guns just a few yards from our camp site. I'm really excited about this because I haven't been camping since I was 17 or 18. I may have gone two years ago when I was a young women leader but we stayed in cabins. I don't count that as camping. This will be the real thing. While we were up in the mountains, Evan stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson. He had fun playing the piano. He will be a great pianist.





Last but not least, Evan loves to feed himself now. I have a hard time keeping the spoon from him. I just gave up the other day and just let him have fun.



Now he just needs to learn how to use the right end.

Better Late than Never

On June 22nd to the 27th, Matt went to Boston on a business trip for Training. This was a trip that he was really looking forward to going on. He left on Sunday and came home Friday. On Sunday since it wasn't a business day, Matt and Steve (Boss) went to Salem and did some site seeing around the area. Here are a few pictures of the places they saw.

Nathaniel Henry Felt House

Nathaniel H Felt lived an abundant and fruitful life of service to his family, church and community. Although he is not a "famous" figure in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he is a fine example of someone willing to sacrifice almost everything for the causes he loved most. Born at Salem, Massachusetts in 1816 he got a liberal start in an environment that groomed him for a prosperous future. Mr. Felt was one of Brigham Young's closest associates, and was entrusted with Young's daughter Vilate in 1844 (Vilate was sent to Salem for educational opportunities). From his service as pastor of London, a defender of Nauvoo, as an active emigration agent for his church in the United States and Europe, as Conference President in St. Louis, to his calling as Assistant Presiding Bishop and many other assignments, Nathaniel Felt made his own mark on the Restoration. On Tuesday they got the opportunity to go to a Red Socks game against the Arizona Diamond Backs. This is the main reason Matt was looking forward to this trip. It was a dream of his to go to the Fenway Park and he finally got the opportunity to go. He had this same training last year before Evan was born but it was in Connecticut. They usually have it in Boston so he was sad that his Fenway Dream was postponed for another year. These pictures are to brag to his Uncles because they've been wanting to go to Fenway as well.

Thursday they went on a Paddle Boat ride and went to the Forefathers Monument


Forefathers monument is the inspiration for the statue of liberty and is the largest granite monument in the US


On Friday, Evan and I were really happy to have him home but we were glad he had a great time. He's looking forward to next year if they have the training again in Boston.

Catch Up

I'm a little behind on our blog so I'm going to catch up on the last week.



Tuesday the 22nd was my 24th Birthday. I'm grateful for my husband for taking the time in making my birthday a great one. He planned a BBQ in my honor at our house and invited all my family and close friends. Thank You Nathan and Elizabeth for spending hours on smoking meat for the Pulled Pork that was so delicious. We ended the night by setting off fireworks. It really brought back childhood memories because for as long as I could remember, before we moved from Utah as a little girl, we set off fireworks on my Birthday instead of waiting till the 24th. This was Evan's first time seeing fireworks since we ditched out on them on the 4th. He was mesmerized by them.

On Thursday the 24th (Pioneer Day) we both had the day off. We spent the morning shopping and had lunch. We spent time with our friend Chelsea. We wanted to keep her company while she had to work. Later in the afternoon we spent some time with our families. After a BBQ at Matt's parents house we took Ericka, Nathan and Elizabeth shooting. It was the girls first time shooting. They have a natural talent for it. It was a blast! We came back to Spanish Fork to get Evan and Ellen to go to the baseball fields in Spanish Fork to see the Big Firework show. Evan ended up falling asleep waiting for them to come so we had to wake him up when they started. It took a while to wake him but once he was up he was enjoying them like the rest of us. Here are some pictures of Evan while we were waiting for them.




Since my Birthday landed on a weekday we did a little more celebrating on Saturday at Lagoon. Grandma Thompson watched Evan for us because we were worried about the heat. It reached 100 degrees that day but we still had a lot of fun. We planned it just right by coming when the park just opened because we hit all the big rides before the lines got so long. On our way home we stopped off at Cabelas. We've been wanting to buy another gun since our last outing and we ended up buying a Ruger semi automatic 22 rifle. While Matt was filling out paperwork, I was looking around for other things but I ended up running into Nathan and Elizabeth. They had so much fun that night that they wanted to buy their own gun :). Since we had to try out our purchases, we went shooting again. Ericka came with us again.

A Great Weekend

Since we got sick after the Reunion, we were excited for the weekend and we were looking forward to getting out of the house and doing something fun. We went to Bridal Vail Falls after we spent the morning doing a little cleaning and getting rid of the weeds out in the front yard. It was a nice 5 minute hike with a paved road so it was nice to be able to bring the stroller with us. I know it's only 5 mins so it's not a big deal carrying Evan but it was nice not having too.





Later on in the evening we spent our time with Amy and Austin playing games. Amy's family was in town so they played with us.

On Sunday we had Leanna (Matt's sister) come over for dinner. After dinner we decided to go up to the falls again because she has never seen them. While we were in Provo Canyon we went up to Squaw Peak to over look Utah Valley. Everything looks so different from above. I couldn't figure out what things were.
