Abby turns 4!

It's been a while since I last posted. Not a lot has gone on but at the same time we've been really busy.
Evan has managed to say other words like OK and YEAH. He still says Kiddy a lot. He's walking a lot more and for longer periods. Before we know it he will be all over the house. Two weeks from Sunday and our little boy will be a year old! Time needs to slow down.
Speaking of turning another year older, my youngest sister Abby, turned 4 years old today. I'm glad Evan can grow up with his Aunt. Abby was close to the same age as Evan now when Matt and I started dating. Matt always told me the only reason why he's marrying me is because of how fun and good Abby was. He was amazed at how easy it was to put her to bed. He hoped our kids will do the same and so far so good! We had fun spending time and having dinner with her and the family tonight. We had the classic Mac n Cheese with hot hogs. Abby's choice of course.

First Word

I'm sad to say, it wasn't Momma or Dadda. We did hear those words from him but it was discriminately so I don't think that counts. The first word we heard from his mouth and him knowing what it meant was Kitty. It sounds more like kiddy. He only says it when he sees a cat or hears one. I was heading out the door from Matt's parent's house to go visit my mom last week and White Socks (Matt's childhood cat) was on the porch. Evan saw him and went nuts. I called Matt and everyone else to come watch and all of a sudden, we all heard him say Kiddy a couple of times. I wasn't the only one that heard him so I have back up. This morning I heard Nathaniel's and Elizabeth's cats meowing in the hall and Evan happened to hear them as well because he started to get excited and started to say kiddy again. I can't believe how smart he is and he just turned 11 Months today. Last week he also learned how to put away his toys. I hand him a toy and he puts it away where it belongs. I love to watch him learn and I can't wait for him to talk more.

He has us wrapped around his little fingers and we will do anything for him.

Grandma Haymore

We jumped at the opportunity of going to the Sacramento area to see our Grandma (Matt's Mother's Mom) that hasn't been doing too well. She's been struggling with health problems and is now in the hospital. We wanted to make sure and see her before anything happened. We heard about her condition Thursday afternoon and drove through the night so we could be with her as soon as possible. We really enjoyed visiting with her. She is such a great lady. We also did other things while we were there. We took Evan to the Ranch and got to see some family. After lunch on Saturday we met up with one of our Aunt and Uncle's from the Thompson side and spent the day at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. We watched a pig race. Our pig won!
We had fun playing in a fort. Being in jail was also fun. We don't know who that other kid is. The train ride was cool. And the best part was the Petting Zoo. I always wanted a goat but this is the closest that I will ever get to having one. The babies were so cute and it was fun watching Evan with them. You got to watch this video


Sunday was a day for us to relax. We went to church with our cousin and her cute daughter but then we had a much needed nap when we got home. I love it when Evan takes long naps so we can get in a few hours of sleep. Later that evening the family in the area got together and had a yummy steak dinner. It happened to be just cousins because all the Aunts and Uncles were at the Hospital with Grandma. We had a great time playing Wii. We never played with one before. It was interesting but fun. Our cousin Jill has a son that looks really similar to Evan. The younger kids thought Evan was Bradley from behind. It was so funny. It took a few shots because Evan was being a goof ball and they liked to crawl off but I got a good one of them together as requested.

Bradley just turned a year old on the 20th so Happy Birthday Bradley!

All around it was a great trip and we were sad to leave Monday. We hope there is another chance for us to go up again or have them come see us.

The drive home was a little tricky with Evan not wanting to sleep except during his normal nap times so we made him this fort and he watched Elmo's World over and over till it got dark. As you can see he rather enjoyed himself.

Poor Evan

Since Saturday we've been fighting a bad diaper rash. I ended up calling his Doctor's office to see if there was anything I could do that I didn't know about because Evan has been miserable during changes. The nurse insisted that I bring him in. This was good because I wanted to know how much he weighs and his measurements because he's been on the small side and he seemed to grow a lot since his last visit on August 11th.

I was right! I'm so happy! Two pounds in a month is good for him and his bum is on the road to a recovery.

After Evan has been teething for what it seemed like since he turned 3 months, I noticed today that he finally cut a tooth! He is a biter so maybe it was a good thing that he was toothless for a while.

Sorry our camera is pretty old so you can't see it but it's there! He wont hold still long enough for me to really take a good look at it and he always has his hand on or in his mouth.


He's such a silly little boy! We are both grateful that he's not a monster when it comes to teething.

Elmo's World

I've always loved Sesame Street growing up but I don't know when it's on so Evan can see it. Do they even air it still? Anyways, Amy and I walked to Blockbuster this morning because there is a new release I've been wanting to watch. I decided to get Evan a movie while I was there so it can entertain him while I get work done. There wasn't any Sesame Street movies but Elmo's World is close enough. I think it's a cute show but I love hearing Evan laugh even more. I think it's safe to get Evan a dog when the time comes because he loves them. Anything that makes a dog noise he laughs at. So here's to more cute laughing from Evan.



P.S Evan walks from side to side in his little play pin without holding onto the edges so it wont be long before he's walking. Today I'm seeing more signs of him standing on his own.

The Quest

The Quest to Perfection and BYU is on it's way especially if they play the rest of the season like they did today. The game was perfection and our season tickets were worth every penny just to see that game alone! We just couldn't believe how well our defense and offense were doing. Congratulations to Max Hall for a splendid performance and for tieing the school record with seven touchdown passes!

In your face ESPN for talking down to our COUGS! Show some repect!


Before the game we bought our Quest shirts. I really wanted Evan to have one but all they had was a Childs Small. I got it anyways. He looks cute in it.

Laughing

It's a couple of days late but Evan turned 10 Months Tuesday. Just 2 more months and we have a 1 year old!

Evan has been laughing for a long time now but I don't think I ever recorded it for you guys to hear. I think it's so cute. He really likes our phones. Actually, I take that back. He LOVES them! We have two hand sets and one of them you can't hear out of it because he drooled all over the ear piece. He was trying to get the phone but to salvage the one that works, I took it away and he started laughing. I just kept doing it and than decided to get it on video. He was a little distracted by the camera but there are still some good laughs.

Evan's First BYU Game

On August 30th was Evan's first BYU game. There aren't any pictures during the game because we were too excited. It was also hot so I was a little busy keeping him cool. At one point I had to go below to get him to nap because it happened to be a longer game than usual because of all the injuries. A lot of mothers and their babies were doing the same thing because it was just too hot. Evan survived and had a great time. He was so cute sporting his new BYU hat and shirt. Here are two pictures of him before the game.




BYU started off the season with a victory and today they won against Washington away from home. It was an amazing game. As much as I love being in the stadium, it was nice to be indoors where it was air conditioned. GO COUGERS!!!
